A good picture is about light, lines, symmetry, balance, and a photo worthy subject. I take tons of pictures, but every now an then, I get one that just stands out. I want to walk you through a few of these photos explaining why I believe they are much better than most of my shots. Note: None of these pictures are doctored up with any post processing. These images are exactly as they were taken.
The flow of this picture is from the rock up and to the right; however, we have a nice horizontal line caused by the curb and super contract between the rock and the pavement and Riley's skintone and clothing. This picture is the first good picture I think I took with the new camera. Probably the single best picture I've ever taken. The horizontal and diagonal lines move the picture. The lighting and vibrancies of the clothing and grass is stunning. Bleys body position moves your eyes to the right, where the sidewalk caries it up to the ball, which brings us to a playful Riley who was actually after a cat. The contrast of the grass and fence where the line of the fence stops at Riley's pant line simply are fantastic. It was a fluke in that I was able to get Bleys to look up when I did. |
